A rebuild kit is the right call only when the carriage is the fault. Spend twenty minutes proving that first; alignment problems and worn optics produce similar symptoms and cost far less to fix.

With the machine unplugged, grip the head and try to rock it. Then lay a steel rule across the carriage plate and look for light underneath. A plate that rocks on the rule, or a mount that sits visibly tilted even at the end of its adjustment, points to bent metal.
Only then order the kit. A new carriage on a gantry that is out of square will wander just the same.
Check the wheels while you are in there. Worn or flat-spotted carriage wheels let the head rock under acceleration, which shows up as wavy edges on curves rather than a lost beam. New wheels and a snug eccentric nut sometimes save the old carriage.
Fitting a carriage set is a bigger job than a head swap. Plan a clear bench, a camera for reference photos, and an evening. Unplug the machine before the lid goes up, and leave it unplugged until the last screw is in.
Check the gantry for square once the belt is back on. Push the gantry gently against the front frame stops on both sides; if one side touches first, adjust the belt tooth position until both touch together. A gantry out of square steers the beam away from centre as the head travels.
Finish with a ramp test to find focus with a 50.8mm lens. The head height on a rebuild may differ from stock, so do not trust your old focus gauge.
Do the first real cut at low speed on cheap card. Watch the head travel the full bed, listen for rubbing, and confirm the lens cone and any nozzle clear the clamp plate. Only then move on to plywood or acrylic.
How far the damage reaches picks between the two CNCOLETECH kits. If only the moving head and its carriage are suspect, the head kit is enough. If mirror mounts are cracked, stripped or seized, the full set replaces them in one go.
