M3 Nano Controller Board Set

XUNKUANER sells the M3 Nano with three dongle options:

Many K40s ship running CorelLaser, the plug-in that drives the laser from inside CorelDRAW. An A lock will not unlock it. If your workflow lives in CorelLaser, order the B or C lock instead, or you will end up with a working board and no software to drive your usual files.

Look at three things on your current machine:

• which program you open to send a job: LaserDRW, CorelLaser or WinSealXP
• the letter or label on your current dongle, if it has one
• whether you plan to keep using CorelDRAW for design

WinSealXP users are the natural fit for the A lock. It is the seal-making program, and it pairs with LaserDRW for general engraving. If stamps are your trade, this is the set to order; if you cut signs and patterns from CorelDRAW, it is not.

Confirm the board is at fault first. Check the USB cable, the power leads and the fuse before blaming it, because a replacement will not fix a loose plug.

1. Unplug the laser, then give the power supply a few minutes to bleed off stored charge.
2. Photograph the old board from above so every connector shows, then label each lead.
3. Check the connectors match. Some K40s use a flat ribbon cable for the X motor and endstops, others use separate plugs. Compare them with the M3 Nano's sockets before removing anything.
4. Swap the board onto the standoffs and reconnect each lead to the matching socket.
5. Mount the operation panel where you can reach it with the lid shut.
6. Enter the board details in the software. LaserDRW and CorelLaser ask for the mainboard model and device ID printed on the board; the wrong entry leaves the machine moving oddly or not at all.

The M3 Nano family grew up in small stamp and seal machines, and it shows in the software support. WinSealXP is built for seal making, and the board is aimed at rubber, paper, acrylic and other thin non-metal work. That lines up with what a K40 does best: stamps, signs, craft patterns and thin sheet.

Good uses for the panel on a K40:

• Test grids. Change power or speed between passes on a scrap and compare the results.
• Material swaps. Nudge settings when you move from card to 3mm acrylic without editing the file.
• Quick checks. Read the machine's current parameters on the display before a long job.

Most K40s already have a current dial or buttons and an mA meter on the front. Decide which control sets the ceiling, and keep watching the meter. Whatever the panel reads, the tube's life depends on the real current flowing through it, and a K40 tube pushed hard ages fast.

Mount the panel where the lid does not hit it and the cable does not pass near the tube bay. Route the cable along the cabinet wall, away from the high-voltage lead. A panel cable pinched in the lid hinge is a slow-motion failure.

• Windows only. It supports Windows 2000 through 10, 32 and 64-bit, and not Linux, Android or Mac.
• No LightBurn. LightBurn does not support the LiHuiyu Nano protocol. You stay on LaserDRW, WinSealXP or CorelLaser, depending on the dongle.
• No grayscale by power. Stock-style boards switch the beam on and off, so photo engraves rely on dithering rather than shading.
• Two axes. Nothing to drive a powered Z table or rotary.
• K40 Whisperer. The free program supports several LiHuiyu board models; check its supported list for the M3 before relying on it.

Have a short list ready: the dongle letter you need, the connectors on your old board, a Windows PC to drive it, and a plan for where the panel mounts. Get those four right and the swap is an afternoon job.
